    Public Works Administration grant W1024 approved a grant of $13,167 toward a sanitary sewer for the city of Sitka. The project was approved 6/22/1938 and construction began 8/23/1938. The project was completed 12/2/1938.
  • Marshfield IOOF Cemetery Rock Wall - Coos Bay OR
    As noted on a history plaque at the Marshfield IOOF Cemetery: "The Works Progress Administration (WPA) funds improvements to Ingersoll Avenue, including a 490-foot-long rock wall at the southern end of the cemetery." The WPA improvements occurred in 1938 and represent a significant improvement in shoring up the steep slope bordering Ingersoll Avenue.
  • NYA Hall - Ravenswood WV
    There is a unique building within the historic district, the Ravenswood Community Center (JA-0177 and JA-177A). It was constructed by the National Youth Administration, a program under the “New Deal” program of Franklin Delano Roosevelt during the Great Depression. The “NYA Hall” was built in 1938 in the Art Deco Style with the cooperation of the City of Ravenswood and the program was geared towards employing younger adults. At some point, it was connected to the McIntosh House via an elevated, brick hyphen. The McIntosh House was built c. 1890 and is Colonial Revival style.     The Works Progress Administration built the Shelly School in Shelly MN in 1938. According to Docomomo, the structure is a "andsome schoolhouse built in Art Deco style with Streamline Moderne elements such as rounded corners and ample glass block. Build under the Works Progress Administration (WPA) of the federal New Deal, replacing a two-story wooden school. The brick structure cost approximately $46,000. Closed in 1993, reopened in 2000 as the Red River History Museum and Norman County Historical Society."
  • Darlington National Guard Armory - Darlington IN
    The Works Progress Administration built the National Guard Armory in Darlington IN in 1938. Presently, (November 2021) it serves as a community center.
  • Norcross Public School (former) - Norcross MN
    The former Norcross Public School at 17568 Norton Ave S opened as a public school in 1938, operated until c. 1970s. As of 2021 being marketed as a residential project, but needs a total restoration. According to Docomomo, the structure is an "Art deco school built under the Works Progress Administration (WPA) of the federal New Deal, replacing a two-story wooden school. The brick structure cost approximately $46,000. Closed in 1970s." In 2020, it was listed for sale as a potential 3500-3800 sq. ft. residential adaptive reuse.
