    The former Abner Gap school in Bee, Dickenson County, Virginia, was constructed as a New Deal project. Known to be off State Highway 80, satellite views suggest the building is still extant. In 1940, W.E. French, who directed the Federal work programs in Dickenson County, reported that from December 1, 1933 to January 27, 1940, that $129,167.00 were spent on school projects in Dickenson County.
