• City Hall (former) - Yuba City CA
In 1938, the Public Works Administration (PWA) provided funds for the construction of a new city hall in Yuba City CA.  The building is single-story, stucco-covered with wood detailing, and a tile roof – a good example of the Mission Revival style popular in California between the wars. The building was sold after a new city hall was built in c. 2008.  The interior has been reworked for professional offices and -- It is still called "Old City Hall" and the inscription "City Hall" remains over the front entrance, but evidently a plaque by the door  has been removed.

  • Post Office - Yuba City CA
The main post office in Yuba City was built in 1939-1940 with funds provided by the Treasury Department and Federal Work Administration. The style is vaguely Modernist Spanish Revival (red roof but minimalist columns).  An annex has been added (left side, facing) and the facade appears to have been resurfaced, not to good effect. Part of the interior is intact. In the lobby is Lulu Braghetta's wood sculpture, "The Wealth of Sutter County," completed in 1942 with funds provided by the Treasury Section of Fine Arts.
  • Post Office Bas Relief - Yuba City CA
A wooden bas-relief hangs at the south end of the post office lobby (slightly marred by the presence of a security camera). Lulu Braghetta completed this 10' x 3.5' carved and painted wooden sculpture, "The Wealth of Sutter County," in 1942 for the Treasury Section of Fine Arts.
